Our Medical Grade Roll CIT Roller has a needle length of 1.5 mm, whereas the Cosmetic Roll CIT for home use is only set at 0.2-0.5 mm. Therefore results will be much more effective
During this painless revolutionary procedure, your skincare professional will apply a topical anaesthetic and will use a small instrument containing tiny needles (ranging from 1mm to 3mm long) to create thousands of microscopic channels in the lower levels of your skin. This causes a minimal amount of bleeding that stops within minutes
After the treatment your skincare practitioner will cleanse your skin and apply nourishing Vitamins A and C which greatly enhances the results as Collagen Stimulation Therapy™ sets up growth "factories" in your skin. The vitamins can be pictured as the workers in these factories and they will continue to benefit your skin for months after the treatment.
You will notice that you look flushed, as if you have sunburn, but this will fade over the next 2-3 days
The body responds to Collagen Stimulation Therapy™ in the same way it would react to an injury. The small amount of bleeding caused during treatment releases powerful growth factors, which are part of a natural healing response, resulting in increased collagen and elastin production
To achieve maximum benefits from Collagen Stimulation Therapy™, it's important to understand how to prepare your skin before the procedure and also what to expect afterwards
Applying Environ® creams containing Vitamin A and C before and after treatment greatly enhances the results, because Collagen Stimulation Therapy™ sets up growth 'factories' in your skin. The vitamins can be pictured as the workers in these factories and they will continue to benefit your skin for months after the treatment
Before Collagen Stimulation Therapy™ we recommend that you:
* Build up the highest level of Environ ® Vitamins A and C that your skin can tolerate. As a minimum, you will have to used AVST-1 for at least 3 weeks
* Support your skin from within by taking supplements containing skin nutrients, such as those found in the Advanced Nutrition Programme™
* Use the Environ ® Cosmetic Roll-CIT™ or Focus-CIT™ before and after having Collagen Stimulation Therapy™. These can be used two days after treatment or as soon as your skin feels comfortable and will ensure that higher doses of the active ingredients penetrate your skin
* By the evening your skin may feel tight and will look sunburned. This may feel a little uncomfortable but it is completely normal
* Cleanse your face and apply your Environ® Vitamin A creams
* Avoid any products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) for the first two days
* You can wear make-up the day after the treatment but not on the actual day of the procedure. We recommend mineral cosmetics by Jane Iredale® as they are free from irritants and kind to the skin
* Do not take anti-inflammatories (e.g. ibuprofen) as these will interfere with the healing process
* Avoid smoking as this floods your skin with free radicals and limits the benefits of the treatment
* Avoid exercise for the first 24 hours as perspiration can cause a stinging sensation
* Limit sun exposure for 10 days
* Your skin should return to normal by the 3rd day, although it may still feel dry
* Continue to apply your vitamin creams regularly to maximise results
Depending on the initial skin condition and the anticipated procedure result, Skin Needling procedures can be repeated without limit every 1-6 weeks, although a course of 6 skin needling sessions is optimal
Scientific research points to the fact that the growth factors in the skin peak after 7 days of treatment and this is why the treatment is recommended to be repeated ideally at 7 day intervals
4 - 6 week intervals allow for maximum new collagen deposition and assessment of the single treatment results, however, collagen and elastin formation can continue for up to 12 months after one treatment

Many clinicians believe that laser resurfacing is the most successful way to rejuvenate a face. But why destroy the epidermis of the skin to make it look smoother? The epidermis is our only protection from the environment. To rejuvenate facial skin we need a perfect epidermis
The principle of the Collagen Stimulating Therapy™ is that the “micro-needles” only penetrate through the epidermis and does not remove it, so the epidermis is only cleft and will rapidly heal. This injury, minute as it might seem, does cause some localised damage and bleeding. Percutaneous induction of collagen results from the natural response to wounding the skin, even though the wound is miniscule
Collagen Stimulating Therapy™ causes microscopic breaks in the blood vessels immediately below the surface layer of the skin (epidermis) and this releases platelets that are important for making blood clot when a blood vessel has been opened. The platelets release a series of growth factors which promote the production of collagen and elastin amongst other things. Of course this happens at a microscopical level and we need to boost the chain of events to promote as much elastin and collagen as we can in order to tighten and smoothen the skin as much as possible
The one way that we know we can boost Vitamin A prior to the treatment and then maintain an enhanced state of collagen and elastin production by continuing the skin care regime thereafter. Vitamin A, as acts on the DNA of about 1000 genes, and amongst it’s many other actions, stimulates the production of collagen
Environ® products have been specially formulated to supply doses of Vitamin A to equate to the effects of retinoic acid without inducing irritation such as a retinoid reaction. Vitamin A, one can say, switches on the factories for collagen and elastin; however, normal collagen cannot be made without Vitamin C
Therefore topical Vitamin C is an essential co-factor to be used in addition to Vitamin A. Once again, Environ® products have been designed to deliver high dose of Vitamin C that actually penetrates into the skin cells and induces the high levels of Vitamin C that are required when we need to make greater amounts of collagen
Vitamin C itself also stimulates the production of collagen through activity on the DNA
